Sung-Tae Hong, MD & PhD, is a medical parasitologist who has contributed research, teaching, and control of human helminthic diseases. He was retired from professor of Seoul National University in February 2020. He has main academic interests in human helminthic diseases such as soil-transmitted helminthiases, clonorchiasis, intestinal trematodiasis, schistosomiasis, and tapeworm diseases. He served as Editor-in-Chief, Journal of Korean Medical Science (JKMS), which is published by the Korean Academy of Medical Sciences. JKMS is published online, weekly on every Monday, focusing on scholarly research articles or perspectives with global or local medical interests. He was president of the Korean Association of Medical Journal Editors (KAMJE) in 2014-2017, and has been a member of the ICMJE 2016-2023.
